Apple delivered Mac OS X Tiger back in 2005, and with it, the first execution of gadgets on the Mac through its Dashboard programming. One of those gadgets was an old iTunes media player, however, because of the endeavors of developer Mario Guzman, who's reproduced a precise reproduction of the gadget for present-day Macs, you can indeed partake in your music in retro OS X style.

Incidentally, the new Music Widget isn't really a gadget. At any rate, not in the current style of gadgets presented in last year's macOS Big Sur, yet rather an independent application that impersonates the appearance of the first iTunes gadget from 2005. The application is completely useful, offering similar controls as the first. Music Widget just works with the Apple Music application, however, Spotify or other music applications will not work with the gadget.
